This Mixed Media painting of the hump back whale is inspired by my time working as a naturalist in the Hawaii Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary.

On a rare sighting this full size whale swam up close.  I was mesmerized by the way the whale sat elegantly floating in the ocean water below staring deep into my eyes.

I felt it begged me to paint it. I felt it purposed a question of time and history long forgotten.  I realized while observing this marvelous creature that the whales being some of the oldest creatures on earth?  If we could translate there thoughts we could learn of all the marvels in ancient times.  Lumeria? Atlantis? Anchor Wat? and more?
